This calming meditation will guide you through a deeply relaxing and healing visualization of the brilliant blue lotus-shaped throat chakra, helping you nurture and clear this powerful energetic center of the body, and restore flow to your butterfly-shaped thyroid gland.

When looking at a diagram of the chakras, or energy centers of the body, the bright blue 5th chakra sits right at the level of the throat. It’s associated with the mouth, jaws, tongue, throat, shoulders, and neck. It even has a gland associated with it. Can you guess what that gland is?

Yup, the thyroid.

Like any energetic circuit, the energy of this chakra is linked to our thyroid glands, and our thyroid glands are linked back to it. When the flow of energy is clear, we are able to communicate clearly, express ourselves, and speak our truth. When the flow of energy is slowed or blocked, our communication may be blocked, as well as the proper functioning of our thyroid glands. There is a chicken and egg factor, but many energetic healers believe that not speaking our truth is intertwined with thyroid dysfunction.

Too much woo? Well if you’re still here, why not give it a try? Visualization and the power of the mind are some of the most underestimated, overlooked, and dismissed tools in our healing toolbox. Too bad, because they’re also some of the most powerful. What have you got to lose?
